Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In this class, we will develop the skills necessary to carry out research (language skills, how to handle documents, and knowledge about ancient Roman history) by reading academic literature written in English on ancient Roman history. It aims to.
【Learning Objectives】
This class will set the following three goals.
(1) Be able to read academic literature written in English accurately.
(2) Be able to systematically understand basic matters in ancient Roman history.
(3) Be able to accurately grasp the points at issue in the literature and dig deeper into them.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard time for preparation and review for this class is two hours each. Read a portion of the English text specified in advance. Also, try to investigate as much as possible the names of people, places, and historical materials that appear in the relevant passages.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Class engagement 100%
Comprehensively judged based on attitude toward class (preparation and participation in discussion) and level of understanding of content.
