Outline (in English)

Course outline: understanding international human resource management is essential for companies to develop their business globally while utilizing multinational human resources and for workers to consider their careers in the future. In this course, based on the understanding of global companies' utilization of international human resources, international human resource management will be reconsidered from a business strategy perspective. Specifically, we will deepen our discussion on managing expatriates who move across borders, communication challenges in multinational companies, and international mergers and acquisitions.
Learning objectives: by the end of this course, the attendees will be able to deepen their own knowledge on human resource management by applying the knowledge to the international or multicultural managerial environment. Also, the attendees are expected to be able to grasp the significance of cases of global human resource management being practiced all over the world.
Learning activities outside of classroom: the attendees are expected to read the materials for each class beforehand and prepare for discussions during the class. Each attendee should prepare presentations based on each chapter's assignment. In addition, each attendee should submit a term-paper after the course ends.
Grading criteria/policy: learning attitude(14%), discussion participation(28%), presentations(28%), and term-paper(30%).
