Outline (in English)
【Course outline】In this class ,we will exercise in how to read writer's autograph from an expert's point of view,while thinking background.
【Learning Objectives】Through the exploration of what it means to read autographs, the program aims to cultivate the ability to face materials without preconceptions and to extract rich information from them, as well as to apply the results to literary research.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
Students are expected to obtain basic information about the materials each time.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】Overall evaluation based on comments during lectures (20%), presentations (40%), and reports and other submissions (40%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
近代作家の残した書簡を素材として、調査と分析の経験を培う。
直筆資料を読むとはどういうことか、その実際的なあり方を探求するなかで、先入観に囚われることなく資料に向き合い、資料の持つ豊かな情報を取り上げる事の出来る力を養い、合わせて、文学研究にその成果を活かす事を目指す。
到達目標Goal
資料を読むための基本的な手順に習熟し、読み解きのための基本的なスキルを身につけ、資料それぞれが有する豊かな情報を引き出し、自らの発表や論文で充分に活用できる。
To become familiar with the basic procedures for reading materials and acquire basic skills for reading and understanding them. By doing so, students will be able to extract rich information from each material and fully utilize it in their own presentations and papers.

担当者の発表と全員での討議による演習形式。人数によっては司会とコメント担当も設ける。最初の時間に要領を説明する。
The seminar will consist of a presentation by the instructor and discussion by all students. The first hour of the seminar will be devoted to explaining the procedure.

本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とします。
受講者は、毎回素材となる資料についての基本情報を得ておくこと。事典等で基本知識を得、自分なりに資料に対するアプローチを考えておくことが望ましい。各自が発表者の立場になり、先行研究等も参照して講義に臨みたい。
