Outline (in English)

《Outline》 Students will become familiar with the unique script and symbols of Zeami's Noh scripts and learn to read their contents.
Learning objects of this class are as follows: 1) to learn about the notation methods specific to the Noh scripts in Zeami's own handwriting, 2) to learn about Noh plays from Zeami's time that are not performed today, 3) to learn about the staging of Noh plays from Zeami's time. 
Doctoral students should aim to find problems in Zeami's Noh scripts that can be linked to their own research questions.
《Learning activities outside of classroom》Deciphering old manuscripts and researching previous studies should be carried out by each student at the Noh theatre Research Institute.
《Grading Criteria》Presentation on the part you have been assigned 70%. Ordinary marks 30%.
