(Course outline)Considering Society through Ceramics (2) -- Focusing on the History of Chinese Ceramics and its Acceptance
(Learning Objectives)After deepening their understanding of the development of Chinese ceramic history in the first semester, students will deepen their understanding of the representative types of Chinese ceramics history: white porcelain, celadon, black glaze, underglaze blue, and overglaze, as well as the new cultures and traditions that have developed in each region. Students will also learn about ceramic culture by comparing how ceramics were accepted not only in China but also in Japan and other country or regions, and how new cultures and traditions were established in each region. The history of the "reception" of Chinese ceramics in various countries and regions from ancient times to the modern period will be studied while acquiring research methods of "archaeology," "art history," and "historiography. Then, students will learn the history of exchange from the viewpoint of "imitation" and "creation" developed in China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and West Asia, as well as acquire "internationality".
