Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course introduces the Quaternary environment and its changes that are extremely relevant to human evolution and the formation of natural environment. Students recognize that the components of the natural environment are interconnected, and understand that an integrated perspective is important for understanding geological phenomena.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, students should be able to gain knowledge of the natural environment, such as climate change, landforms, geology, and glaciers.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria /Policy: Final grade will be calculated according to the following process; presentations of the research project (30 %), term-end examination(50 %), and in-class contribution (20 %).
