Outline (in English)

This course examines the role of research methods and statistics in the linguistic sciences.

Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following: (a) define and describe quantitative research methods commonly used in the linguistic sciences; (b) perform statistical analyses using Excel, JASP, and R; (c) input data and apply an appropriate method of analysis; and (d) report the results of statistical analyses in APA format.


Students should complete the reading assignments before each class and be prepared to discuss the content of the readings.

Final grades will be calculated based on the following:
Presentations: 50%; Final Data Analysis Assignment: 50%
