Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】
The scope of this lecture covers not only environmental problems that arise within cities, but also local and remote environmental problems caused by the power that accompanies cities. In order to approach these subjects, we will incorporate knowledge from multidisciplinary fields such as sociology, urban planning, geography, history and ecology related to cities and the environment. We take on environmental problems as urban problems and consider what kind of city can realise an environment where no one is left behind.

【[Learning objectives】
・Be able to think sociologically about what environmental problems are.
・Be able to understand the power that comes with cities and to recognise various environmental problems as urban problems.
・Be able to seek solutions to environmental problems on an environment-social-economic layer.
・It becomes interesting to think and act specifically about how cities should be.
