Outline (in English)

(1)Course Outline
Economic law is an academic concept that includes multiple laws to develop and maintain economic order in the markets. This lecture will focus on the antitrust law, which is the core of the economic law, and the area where the law intersects with the related legal systems.
Through lectures, students will understand the evolution of the Antimonopoly Act, and will consider "fair competition" in the context of complex and dynamic economy from various aspects.

(2)Learning Objectives
Understand the characteristics of the advanced themes of antitrust law in each area. In particular, the following areas.
(a) Intellectual property rights and antitrust law
(b) Resale price maintenance of copyrighted works
(c) Extraterritorial application
(d) Digital Economy

(3)Learning Activities Outside of Classroom
Students are encouraged to review the cases discussed in class after class to deepen their understanding. Also, it is encouraged to keep abreast of the latest trends regarding the application of antitrust laws through newspapers and other media. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 4 hours.

(4)Grading Criteria /Policy
70% for the assignments and 30% for participation and others.
Several report assignments will be given. Reaction papers will be required in class and they are subject to class participation grades(30%).
