Outline (in English)

1. Course Outline

The purpose of this course is to lecture on the basic principles and basic legal issues of Japanese labor law.

The outline is as follows:
-1. About a Labor Standards Act;
-2. A case law concerning the Labor Standards Act.

2. Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
-A. Understand the legal domain shown in the "Class Outline" above and the related case law.
-B. You will be able to answer basic questions about the legal domain and related case law and slightly more difficult questions (work rule test / legal test advanced <advanced> course level) shown in the above "Outline of class".
-C. You can answer the case questions (simplified bar examination questions) related to the legal domain and related judicial doctrine shown in the above "Outline of Class" in sentences.
-D. With the knowledge acquired in A to C, you will be able to actively participate in the developmental problems of labor relations with a legal mind.


3. Learning Activities Outside of Classroom

Lecture/Exercise(two-credits)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.


4.Grading Criteria /Policies

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
-a. Term-end examination: 80%
-b. Online quiz : 20%
