Outline (in English)

In this course, students are expected to learn the history of English literature, particularly British fiction, from the 16th to the 21st century, by reading extracts from the text in English and considering the historical background. This course also refers to films based on British fiction. The goals of this course are to position masterpieces of British fiction in historical contexts, learn the basics of interpretation of literature and improve English reading comprehension. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. The final grade will be calculated according to the following process: performance in class activities (30%) and term-end examination (70%).
