Outline (in English)

Course Outline: Reading and analyzing comic works from late 18th-century Edo (modern Tokyo) to discover the diversity of literary style, vocabulary and expressions in them.
Learning Objectives: The main goal of this course is to become familiar with each genre of literature of the time, understanding the skills applied in them and the various means of expression they make use of. Students also learn how to utilize digitalized materials.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Writing a reaction paper after every class in 10 minutes. Four short reports are also required.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Reaction paper (40%), short reports (60%).
