Outline (in English)

Course Outline: Shoshigaku (“bibliography”) is the study of books. This course deals with the basic concepts of bibliography.
Learning Objectives: The purposes of this course are as follows:
(1) to master basic knowledge of classical Japanese bibliography
(2) to understand the culture of books
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Before and after each class meeting, students are expected to spend two hours understanding the content of the course.
Grading Criteria/Policy: The overall grade of the class will be determined based on: final exam (80%); performance in class (20%).
