Outline (in English)

Course outline:
Our theme is "Naturalistic view of humanity: on its history and contemporary problems". You can learn various philosophical problems about the naturalistic view of humanity, firstly from historical point of view and secondly in terms of contemporary scientific perspectives.

Learning Objectives: The goals of this course are the followings:
(1) to learn about the topics on philosophy and history on the naturalistic view of humanity so that you will be able to explain them at least in outline, and,
(2) to produce your term-end report reflecting your knowledge which you will get in the class and from other extra-class studies.

Learning activities outside of classroom: You will be expected to submit your task issued after each class through Hoppii and to understand the course content if you would feel uncompleted. You are also expected to read relevant literature especially for your term-end report. Your required study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.

Grading Criteria /Policies: Final grade will be calculated based on term-end report (60%) and in-class contribution (including your attitude to after-class tasks)(40%) .
