Outline (in English)

Course outline:
Learn how to determine the stress and deformation states of various structures using the energy principle, a fundamental principle of physics.

Learning Objectives:
The goal is to master solution methods for determining deformation of various static structures and stresses in non-stationary structures, and to understand the mechanical properties of basic structural forms.

Learning activities outside of classroom:
Students are expected to prepare for the class by using reference books, review after class, and actively work on homework exercises and assignments. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria/Policy:
Grading will be based on the results of exercises and periodic examinations. Students who are absent three times in a row or five times or more in total will not be graded.
