Outline (in English)

Course outline: Air conditioning equipment, such as air conditioners, which are used to maintain a comfortable environment in a house, uses electric energy to move heat energy by driving motors. In this way, various systems using thermal energy exist around us. In this lecture, students learn the three forms of heat transfer (Conduction, Radiation, and Convection) necessary for the design and analysis of these systems and the basics of fluid dynamics.

Learning Objectives: 1) To understand the significance of studying physics through the introduction of application examples, 2) To understand the basics of thermal energy engineering and fluid mechanics, 3) To develop basic skills of thermal energy engineering and fluid mechanics through exercises

Learning activities outside of classroom: The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each. In particular, students are encouraged to deepen their understanding before the next class if they do not have a sufficient understanding of the subject matter at the end of the class.

Grading Criteria /Policy: Grades will be determined by a final exam at the end of the lecture (50%) and exercises assigned during the lecture (50%). Grades will not be given to students who have not taken the examinations or submitted the assignments.
