The aim of this course is to help students acquire the basic sociological concepts and terms, and to develop a beginning critical perspective on the structure of our modern society. The course introduces students to classical theoretical traditions of Durkheim, Weber, and Tonnies. Our study is the basic social institutions (religion, economics, and politics), and major trends in sociology.
