Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
 Seventy years have passed from the battle in Okinawa, and fifty years from the reversion of Okinawa. Okinawa still seems to be under U.S. military colonialism. It suffers structural discrimination by the people of Japan proper as well. In post-war Okinawa and foreign relations 1, we consider and discuss the dynamism that formed post-war Okinawa. In this class, post-war means the period from the battle in Okinawa to the end of the cold war.


【Learning objectives】
 The goal of this course is to understand Ryukyu/Okinawa and its foreign relations after World War II.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
 Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
