Outline (in English)

[Course Outline]
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with some points of view about effects or impacts of reading books in the psychological context. Main topics are as follows: what kind of psychological process is necessary for reading books or what kind of effect happens by electronic books. In addition to these, we will consider the cause of increase in the number of non-readers.
[Learning Objectives]
At the end of the course, participants are expected
1.to explain the significanse of book reading psychologically.
2.to point out the causes of phenomenon of decreasing book readers and to take measures to it psychologically
3.to anticipate the influences of digital books psychologically.
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
After each class meeting,participants will be expected
1.to read some papers related on the theme of the class of the day.
2.to make a summary on contents of the class of the day.
[Grading Criteria /Poclicy]
Grading will be decided based on research presentation(50%)、academic discussion(30%)、submission of assignments(20%).
