Outline (in English)
In this class, we will read Virginia Woolf's poetic novel The Waves. Before diving into this main text, we will read poets Woolf read and loved, including Shakespeare, the Romantics, and Victorian poets.

ヴァージニア・ウルフの小説 The Waves を読み、ウルフが試みた詩と小説の融合について考える。The Waves はそれまでのウルフ作品とどう違うのか。なぜ新しい小説の形態を模索したのか。ウルフが好んだ詩人の作品も読むことで、The Waves における詩の影響、また詩と小説の違いについて議論していく。

The class revolves around students' presentations and discussions. There will be some lectures, but most of the class time will be devoted to students' active participation. Students will receive feedback on their work in class, via Hoppii, and during office hours. The format of this class in a given week could change, depending on the Covid situation.
