Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following: (a) define and describe quantitative research methods commonly used in applied linguistics; (b) perform statistical analyses using Excel, SPSS, JASP, R, Winsteps, and Facets; (c) input data and apply an appropriate method of analysis; and (d) report the results of statistical analyses in APA format.
Reading assignments will be given for each class. Students should complete the reading assignments before each class and be prepared to discuss the content of the readings.
Final grades will be calculated based on the following:
Presentations: 50%
Data Analysis Assignment: 50%
