Outline (in English)
In this course, students will learn the whole picture of teaching and researching reading in a second language (L2) and discuss how reading works and differs for L2 learners. Students are required to propose their research projects and classroom instruction toward evidence-based practice in pedagogy.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
本講義では，外国語として英語を学ぶ上で，文字言語情報をより正確かつ高度に処理するプロセスやその習得過程の解明を目指していく。特に読み手の知識や経験，関心，スタイルおよび認知的な要因が「読み」にどのような影響を与えているのか，読み手の心の中に生じているプロセスの分析を試み，リーディング能力の優劣はどのような要因から決定されるのかを探り，その応用として教室における英語リーディング指導の在り方を検証する。

・第二言語読解理論を発展させる研究を立案できる。
・第二言語読解理論に基づいた読解指導を立案できる。

毎週レポーターが教科書の概要や研究プロポーザルを発表し，内容について全員で討議する。前回の授業で提出された発表資料および発表内容から良い点をいくつか取り上げ、全体に対してフィードバックをおこなう。
