Outline (in English)

[Lecture Title:] Reading Poe’s Gothic Fiction
Students learn to carry to a higher level the skillful analysis of language and text, by close reading of Edgar Allan Poe's gothic tales and poems. Students also obtain knowledge about literaty gothicism and about its developments.
[Learning activities outside of classroom:] Before/after each class meeting, students are expected to spend 2 hours
respectively to understand the course content.
[Grading Criteria/Policies:] Overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: in-class contribution [positive participation] (70%),final report [paper] (30%).
