Outline (in English)

This is a course to learn the Indian mahayana Buddhist MAdhyamika philosophy and Buddhist epistemology. The main aim of this course is to give participants an understanding of how KamalaZIla, a later MAdhyamika philosopher, used DharmakIrti's Buddhist logic and epistemology in order to establish his madhyamaka philosophy.
By the end of the course, participants should be able to understand the followings:
1. Logical structure of the proof of the truth consisting in the selflessness of all dharmas.
2. The structure of the cognition which directly understand the the truth of selflessness.
3. Later MAdhyamika view of life.
Before/after each class meeting, participants will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided base on the following: Presentation (60%) and Contribution in class (40%).
