Outline (in English)

【Course outline】The purpose of this class is to comprehensively improve the ability to research data collection and analysis through the creation of research initiatives, preliminary experiments, and surveys. Besides, students will acquire the ability to learn various research methods and set up research proposals with the understanding that the previous research of physical fitness related to sports and various physical activities.

【Learning Objectives】By the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Acquire the ability to prepare the outline and research plan for the master's thesis to be submitted in April of the second grade of Master Corse.
2. Understand research methods in health and sports physical fitness.
3. Formulate a research plan on health and sports physical fitness.
4. Understand how to plan experiments and surveys necessary for analysis and acquire the ability to analyze data.

【Learning activities outside of the classroom】As a general rule, students should follow the assignments for each class. Students are expected to review and revise their assignments based on the discussions in class. In addition, the assignment to a research proposal is a required item for the evaluation. The standard time for preparation and review in each class is two hours.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】Grading will be decided based on achievement of each assignment(40 %), Presentation of the research proposal and prepare for the presentation of the master's thesis research plan(30 %), and Participation in the discussion(30 %).
Students who do not submit the assignment more than three times and not the presentation of the research proposal will not evaluate.
