Outline (in English)

Course outline:
In this course, I give a lecture on the traditional price theory. The purpose of this course is that students who learned the basic of microeconomics in the undergraduate lectures learn the intermediate contents with the calculations. The price theory and its analytical methods are the basis of econometric analyses and case studies in addition to theoretical analyses. In this course, I hope that students acquire such bases.

Learning objective:
The goals of this course are to understand consumer, producer, and market theories. In particular, students should be able to explain these theories verbally, mathematically, and graphically on their own. In addition, students should have the skill of comparative statics.

Leaning activities outside of classroom:
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand course contents and basic concepts of economics.

Grading criteria/policies:
Final grade will be calculated by homework:50% and term exam:50%.
