Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This class will be conducted to make students to understand the significance and effect of physical activity deeply.
Therefore, by the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
Improve properly learning and attitude about physical, mental and social health necessary throughout the students’ future of life.
Concretely, we will educate to maintain and promote their own health, to acquire important knowledge to self health care, and to develop attitudes for that.
In addition, students are expected to follow the lecture's instructions in charge of the class regarding assignments to be done after class and pre parations for the next class.
【Learning Objectives】
The goal of this course is to help students analyze their physical fitness and condition, training, posture, movement, body composition, aging, lifestyle-related diseases, nutrition and diet, and to help them change their behavior to improve their future health.
The following are the objectives of the classes in each field.
1. Guidance and common classes
(01) Understand how to proceed with the class
(02) To be able to set personal goals for maintaining and improving one's health
(03) To be able to measure physical fitness and consider changes in conditions
2. Sports and physical fitness A (Improvement of dynamic function...training methods)
(04) To be able to use a training center appropriately
(05) To be able to explain the different energy metabolism depending on training methods
06) To be able to describe the points to be considered for safe and effective training
3. Sports and Health
07) To understand the relationship between energy expenditure and physical activity.
(08) To understand body composition, obesity, and metabolic syndrome
09) To understand aging and physical fitness
(10) To learn the basics of lifestyle-related diseases and to understand how to exercise to improve them
4. Sports and Physical Fitness B (Improvement of static function...posture and movement)
(11) To learn about the structure of standing posture and understand the characteristics and problems of one's own posture.
(12) To increase awareness of one's own body through movement tasks that consciously manipulate the pelvis, spine, and shoulders.
(13) To understand the effects of consciously facing one's own body on one's physical and mental health.
5. Sports and Diet
(14) To reflect on one's own dietary habits and understand how to maintain a nutritional balance.
(15) To understand weight control methods based on body composition.
(16) To understand exercise and nutritional intake methods for weight gain and weight loss.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Learning activities outside of classroom are before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Grading criteria of final grade will be calculated according to the following process term-end examination (20%), Participation in
class activities and class attitude and short reports in-class (80%).
