Outline (in English)

Course Outline: During the fall semester we will read passages from works of fiction, from between the 17th century and the present.
Learning Objectives: The goal of this lecture is to explore possibilities for new literary expression through observation of the variety of written Japanese texts.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Students are encouraged to read as many of the works discussed in class as they can. Two hours each of preparation and revision are standard for each class.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Grading will be based on class participation (50%) and reports (50%).
