Outline and objectives

Students will learn the basic skills for effective presentations in English. They will listen to, perform and practice writing structures that create impact in a presentation

Goal

The overall goal is for students to develop the basic skills of competency in presenting short talks as well as applying new vocabulary in being able to interact and survive in an English speaking environment.

The methodology used is primarily communicative based. Lessons will concentrate on the comprehension of textbook materials as well as educational media ( spoken, written, audio visual). Students will be expected to demonstrate competency in these areas through in class activities done in pairs and groups as well as in the periodic presentations assigned. The means of feedback for assignments will be given during classroom discussions.

Goals and plan of action. Write a presentation.
Learn the basic format to plan a. presentation

3[対面/face to face]:Students will talk about goals and plan of action continuation.

Discussion on realistic goals. What steps to achieve them.
Presentation on activities you can do to develop your listening skills outside the classroom.

Speaking up in class, techniques to improve your speaking skills.

5[対面/face to face]:Students will give a short presentation on overcoming barriers.

Speaking goals and plan of action. Use of visual aids.

Write a presentation. Information technology everyday. skills you used to research the topic.

Short presentation using information technology every day.

A short holiday, study abroad, make a simple brochure for travelers
to your country.

Discussion on culture shock, difficulties in living abroad, learning to adopt in a new culture. Gaining confidence in a new culture

11[対面/face to face]:Students will talk on developing respect for others.

Listen to the topic on cultural stereotypes.
Prepare a short presentation. Collect some advertisements on line to show how cultural
stereotypes are used.

12[対面/face to face]:Students will give speeches related to the topic, and will assess other students.

Feedback on speeches should be given orally, and students can practice note taking.

13[対面/face to face]:Speeches - Students will prepare and will give their speeches for a grade.

Students will give their speeches and will listen to other speeches, and will assess one student each.
