授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
The aim of this course is for students to develop their listening and speaking proficiency by way of a series of assigned tasks done in-class as well as outside of class, online.
There are 14 classes in total. 7 times will be online classes, 7 times will be face-to-face classes.
到達目標Goal
At the end of this course, students are expected to be able to listen to, watch, deliver and evaluate a speech presentation in English. They are all integrated in the sense that the purpose of listening to and watching examples of good presentations is to learn from them the best practices of how to deliver an effective presentation.

Lecture-training, participant observation application and evaluation, question and answer. Feedback can be given by the teacher and the students. Students can give feedback in groups, both orally and written. Group sessions will be almost every week. Students will listen to the speeches of other students.

Warm up conversation, watch videos for conversation and a speech, write a speech and practice
3[オンライン/online]：Unit 2 - Talk about Yourself
Warm up conversation, watch videos for a conversation and sample speech. Students will write a speech and will give feedback in groups.
4[オンライン/online]：Unit 3 - Express Yourself
Warm up conversation, watch videos for a conversation and sample speech. Students will write and give a speech. Feedback can be given in groups.
5[オンライン/online]：Unit 4 - Talk about Hobbies and Interests
Students will start with a warm up. They will watch two videos. They will write and give a speech. They will practice in groups.
6[オンライン/online]：Unit 5 - Talk about your University
Class will start with a warm up. We can watch two videos. Students will write and give a speech. They will give feedback in groups.
7[オンライン/online]：Preparation for first speech
Student will write a speech and make visual aids. They will practice in groups.
8[対面/face to face]：First graded speech
Students will give a speech for a grade.
9[対面/face to face]：Unit 6 - Your Future Plans
Students will start with a warm up. They will watch two videos. They will write and give a speech. They will practice in groups and give feedback.
10[対面/face to face]：Unit 7 - Express Appreciation
We will start with a warm up. Students will watch two videos. They will write and give a speech. Students will give feedback in groups.
11[対面/face to face]：Unit 8 - Social Activities
Students will have a warm up, they will watch two videos. They will write and give a speech. They will practice in groups.
12[対面/face to face]：Prepare for the second speech
Students will write a speech and will make visual aids. They will practice in groups.
13[対面/face to face]：Second speech for a grade
Students will give a speech for a grade.
14[対面/face to face]：Unit 9 - Express your Opinion
Review, warm up, watch videos of a conversation and sample speech. Students can give a speech and give feedback.
授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
Students should review and prepare for an hour or two. They should review the previous lesson and should look at the unit topic for the next speech. They should write about the next topic in order to prepare for the next class. In class writing time will be limited.

50% of the class will be conducted online and rest of the 50% will be face-to-face.
On the weeks that are online lessons to be conducted, please have access to zoom. You may participate the class from a laptop or a smart phone.
