Outline (in English)

  Some Acts of Parliament and bye-laws provide acts of executive agencies necessary for bringing up or protecting children, in order to work towards these goals. This course is designed to overview those laws and executive functions, and also to learn problems of those laws.
  After completing this course, you should be able to:
・Sketch out an Act concerning child allowances (that is the Child Allowance Act 1971) and define its problems;
・Sketch out an Act concerning child rearing allowances (that is the Child Rearing Allowance Act 1961) and define its problems;
・Sketch out an Act concerning special child rearing allowances (that is the Act on Special Child Rearing Allowance 1964) and define its problems;
・Sketch out an Act concerning disabled child welfare allowances (that is also the Act on Special Child Rearing Allowance 1964) and define its problems;
・Sketch out an Act concerning the use of nursery centres (that is the Child Welfare Act 1947) and define its problems;
・Sketch out an Act concerning the use of the other nursery facilities which are established without administrative approval (that act is also the Child Welfare Act 1947), and define its problems;
・Sketch out Acts concerning detection and protection of children who have suffered for child cruelty or child abuse (those are the Child Welfare Act 1947, the Child Abuse Prevention Act 2000, and the Civil Code 1896) , and also define its problems; and
・Sketch out bye-laws concerning protection of young people and define its problems.
  It would be normal to take 4 hours following up every lesson by organising notes taken and reading reference book(s) presented in class.
  Assessment for degree of your understanding is done by an end-of-term written exam (100%). If you cannot attend school because of the spread of COVID-19, it is done by an essay in using 'Learning Management System [an internet-based system for learning]'.
