Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
In this class, students critically read papers of cognitive psychology focusing on memory and papers of educational psychology focusing on learning process. Through discussing the research goal, the methodology, and analytical method, students acquire the fundamental skills to develop their research plans.
[Learning Objectives]
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
1.Students can list problems / improvements or advantages in the method of individual previous research.
2.Students can list problems / improvements or advantages regarding the analysis of individual previous studies and the interpretation of results.
3.Students can propose a more appropriate research plan based on the contents of 1 and 2 above.
4.Students can present the contents of 1, 2 and 3 above to others in an appropriate and easy-to-understand manner.
5.Students can make accurate comments on the presentations of others.

The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
[Grading Criteria /Policy]
The overall grade of the class is determined based on the following.
In-class contribution 50%, presentation about the paper 30%, proposal for improvement plan 20%.
