Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to teach students basic knowledge and methods of research about the old Japanese history book, 'Nihonshoki'. 'Nihonshoki' is not only a basic historical source of ancient history, but has been read as a classic for a long time. Behind the Type text and Electronic text that we see today, there are books that have been transcribed, published, and even unique annotations. In this lecture, we will take a concrete article on 'Nihonshoki' and consider the meaning of writing History while paying attention to the characteristics of each Text.
