Outline (in English)

Learn the principles of modern constitution theory and understand the characteristics of Japanese Constitution.Understand the definition of human rights protected by the Constitution of Japan, the current situation and issues for the protection.Also,understand the governing organization, separation of powers, judicial review system, and local autonomy in the Japanese Constitution.
This course aims to provide an understanding of the basic 'principles' underpinning constitutional law, such as national sovereignty, democracy and the division of power, as well as the concept of human rights and their guarantees, which are influenced by history, the state of society and its relationship with the international community.
The final grade is based on an examination.The quality of the report is taken into account when grading.
