Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The purpose of this course is to develop students’ listening, speaking, and basic presentation skills with TED Talks videos. Through step-by-step activities in the textbook, students will acquire basic skills for input, such as vocabulary and note-taking skills, as well as skills for output, such as critical thinking and presentation skills.
【Learning Objectives】
Students will acquire listening skills for understanding English speech.
Students will understand paragraph writing and be able to express their own opinion in short passages.
Students will be able to deliver short effective presentations in English.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Preparation and review should be around an hour a week for a one-credit course.
Preparation:
to look through textbooks and look up unfamiliar words and expressions
to do Vocabulary
Review:
to review the answers of each activity
to check the phrases and vocabulary to express your answers correctly
to reread the textbook and prepare to ask questions if you have
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process.
Class participation(40%), Presentation (30%), and assignments(30%).

Students will fail the class if his/her final grade is below 60% or he/she is absent more than four times.
