Outline (in English)
In this course, we will learn 5 skills through text. The interesting topics from Newspaper’s articles will give you information about different culture.
The goal of this course are to read, listen to, and summarize English articles, and speak and write the students’ views on the issues.
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than an hour for a class.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Short test 70%, in class contribution 15%, assignments 15%

テキスト上での様々な題材を通して、文化理解を深めるとともに、英語の5技能を総合的に強化する。
到達目標Goal
テキストの中で扱われている多種多様の題材を通して、口語表現を含んだ会話表現を含む、「読む、書く、聞く、話す、議論する」の各技能を高めることを目標とする。同時に、15の題材を通しての知識を向上させることも目標の一つである。

テキストに添って、語彙学習、読解、リスニング、会話、作文などの課題を行う。
1章に２～３回を当てる予定で、各章のまとめとして小テストを行う。
課題のフィードバックに関しては授業内、あるいは次の週に充てる。
なお、感染症の拡大状況によってはオンライン授業との併用とする。

本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、合わせて1時間を標準とします。/University guidelines suggest preparation and review should be around an hour a week for a one-credit course.
事前に次回学習範囲の和訳、単語のチェック、問題演習などの予習を行う。
また授業内で示された次回課題に取り組むこと。
