Outline (in English)

[Course outline] The lecture intends to provide the basic knowledge of risk management in sports according to the medical and scientific evidences. The lecture provide knowledge and skill how to prevent accidents and injuries related to physical activity, exercise, and sports.
[Learning objectives] The substantial goal of the lecture is to understand what risk is entailed and what accident is incurred in relation to sports activity and to obtain the skill of logical assessment of the sports related risk and that of developing strategy for prevention of accidents on the basis of scientific and medical evidences. In addition, to understand the biological, medical, and epidemiological background of COVID-19 and how to cope with sports activities in the pandemic is another important scope of this lecture.
[Learning activities outside of classroom] Students have to study and prepare for each classroom by using handout materials uploaded to the learning management system beforehand. Total hours for studying outside of classroom is estimated to be 4 hours; 2 hours beforehand and 2 hours afterward.
[Grading criteria/policy] The grading will be determined by the score of the term-end examination (100%). A quiz (mini test) will be provided occasionally in the classroom. The score of the quiz might be added to that of the term-end examination. CAUTION: To take photos of any materials presented in the classroom or to record the lecture is prohibited. Students who violate this rule and take photos or record any materials presented in the classroom without permission are not allowed to take the term-end examination.
