Outline (in English)

In this course, students learn the basic concepts and theories of "media," which are closely related to our daily lives, in order to understand their connection to the real world. In addition, students will learn the latest findings on the topics to be covered in each session.
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
-A. Understand the basic concepts and theories of the connection between media and society, and be able to explain and discuss them from various perspectives.
-B. Explain the position and results of current research related to media and society.
Except for the first class, students are required to review the contents of the previous class by reading the distributed slides and notes taken by the students themselves. When instructed, students should read the literature in advance. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2.5 hours each. Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on midterm exam(40%) and final exam(60%).
