Outline (in English)
（Course outline）
This course examines the events and issues occurring in modern agriculture and farming villages in relation to social changes such as "globalization," "evolution of technology," and "individualization."
（Learning Objectives）
The goals of this course are to understand various issues occurring in modern agriculture and farming villages from a sociological point of view and to gain a perspective to think about various social issues from agriculture and farming villages.
（Learning activities outside of classroom）
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the course content.
（Grading Criteria /Policies）
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process Mid-term report (30%), term-end report (60%), and in-class contribution.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
現代の農業・農村で起こっている出来事や、生じている課題について、「グローバル化」、「テクノロジーの進化」、「個人化」といった現代社会の構造変動とのかかわり合いのなかで考察する。
到達目標Goal
・現代の農業・農村で起こっている諸課題を社会学の視点から理解すること。
・さまざまな社会課題を農業、農村の立場から考える視点を獲得すること。

講義形式で行う。授業資料については、事前配布を基本とする。毎回、リアクションペーパーの提出を求め、それを次の回以降の授業内容にも適宜反映させていく。
