Outline (in English)

In this course, students will explore ways to provide solutions to challenges faced by our society through the media.

In this course, students will learn about "various media" such as mass media, journalism, advertising, and the Internet, and then explore ways to provide solutions to challenges faced by our society through the media.
The first half of the course is mainly about mass media, internet media, and social media, and the second half is about how to use them to solve social issues.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, students are expected to learn how to solve social issues through media and be able to think about solutions based on their own interests.

Learning activities outside of classroom
To clarify your awareness of the issues, you are encouraged to watch daily newspapers and television news programs and documentaries. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria/Policy
Examination 50%, Ordinary Score 50%. Ordinary marks will be based on the content of in-class comments, questions, and reaction papers.
