Outline (in English)
【Course outline】In this course, students will learn elementary grammar for beginning students of German.
While understanding the structural features of the German language, students will develop a comparative perspective with Japanese, English and other languages, leading to the ability to deal with multiple languages. Students will also develop a perspective of "learning how to learn a language" in order to learn new languages in the future.
In addition, by familiarizing themselves with the culture and society of the German-speaking world, they will be able to use this course as a starting point for considering the diversity of language and culture.
【Learning Objectives】
・Students will learn elementary German grammar and be able to read and write elementary German.
・Students will learn the conventions of German pronunciation and be able to read aloud texts they have never seen before.
・Students will gain an understanding of the cultural and social characteristics of the German-speaking world.
・Students will gain a perspective on what it means to be multilingual and to understand cultural diversity.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
How carefully you review is very important for language acquisition, so please make a conscious effort to make sure that the review assignments for almost every class will help you to consolidate what you have learned. The standard study time for this class is about 2 hours for each class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
・The total of each test for each lesson or two will be 70%, and 30% will be the normal score (work on in-class assignments, mini-tests, etc.).
Students are expected to work on each assignment and test in good faith to build a solid foundation.
・If the number of absences without justifiable reason exceeds 30% of the total number of classes, the student will be excluded from the grading system.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
この授業では、ドイツ語初習者のための初級文法を学びます。
ドイツ語の構造的な特徴を理解しながら、日本語や、英語あるいはその他の言語との比較の視点を養い、複数言語へ対応する能力につなげていきます。将来さらに新たな言語を学ぶための「言語の学び方を学ぶ」視点も養います。
そして、ドイツ語圏の文化・社会にも親しむことで、言語・文化の多様性を考えるためのスタート台にします。

・ドイツ語初級文法を習得し、初歩的な読み書きができるようになります。
・ドイツ語の発音のきまりを習得し、初見のテクストを音読することができるようになります。
・ドイツ語圏の文化・社会の特徴について、さまざまな気づきを得ます。
・複数言語能力とは何か・文化の多様性を理解するとは何かを考える視点を得ます。

・文法事項・構造を確認・理解しながら、練習問題や会話文に取り組み、知識の運用と定着を進めていきます。
・音読を随時行い、しっかり声を出して練習します。
・言語知識の復習と定着のため、随時ドリル形式等のミニ・テストを行います。
・そのうえで、1～2課を修了するごとに、その課で学んだ内容の筆記テストを実施します。
・映像・音声資料も用いて、ドイツ語圏の文化や社会を紹介します。
・課題、意見等へのフィードバックは、授業内での対面フィードバックを行い、場合によっては「学習支援システム」を通じて行う予定です。

復習をどれだけ丁寧に行うかが語学の習得にとっては大変重要ですので、ほぼ毎回出す授業の復習課題では、学習内容の定着につなげるよう意識的に取り組んで下さい。本授業のための学習時間は、毎授業ごとに2時間程度を標準とします。

辞書は、初回の授業で説明しますので、そのあとで購入してください。
ドイツ語の背景にあるドイツ語圏の文化・社会に関する書籍や情報源、ドイツ語学習サイト、ドイツ語関連イヴェントなどを、授業中に適宜紹介します。Hoppiiの教材コーナーにも随時アップしますのでぜひ利用して下さい。
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
・1～2課ごとに行う各テストの合計を70%、平常点(授業内の課題への取り組み、ミニ・テスト等）を30%として、全体の60％以上の達成で単位取得とします。
毎回の課題・テストに誠実に取り組んで、基礎を固めましょう。
・正当な理由のない欠席が全体の30％を超えた場合は、成績評価対象外となります。
