Outline (in English)

Course Outline: If you think the news is the same in all of the media, you would be wrong. Each media has its own stance. Newspaper articles are not neutral, and neither is television. Students learn the difference between the news on each media, how different they are, and why such differences exist.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the course, students are expected to have gained the ability to understand the essence of incidents by selectively choosing media.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read several newspapers, to be familiar with the headlines, and to have watched a number of current affairs programs.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: active participation in group work (60%); short reports (20%), in-class contribution (20%).
