Outline (in English)

In this course students will investigate and study problems relevant to civil and environmental engineering. Students will determine which problems they wish to solve.
Learning objectives of this class is to form an awareness of problems related to the core themes of a specialized field and acquire problem-solving skills through reading domestic and foreign literature related to the specialty, field visits, and discussions, surveys, and research on specific themes.
Learning activities outside of this class is a wide range of continuous learning for self-development, ranging from specialized knowledge on specific themes to developing research-level problem-solving skills.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is a total of 10 hours.
Grading criteria and policy are based on daily self-development research and research efforts.
80% will be awarded for the status of investigation/research efforts, etc., and 20% will be given for reports on research results such as presentations at academic conferences.
