Outline (in English)

<Class Outline>
Students learn the structure of computer networks centered on the Internet and its peripheral technologies. In the spring semester, students will focus on TCP/IP technology, which is the mechanism for connecting to the Internet, and HTML and CSS, which are the technologies for creating websites that run on top of TCP/IP.

<Purpose and Significance of the Class>
ICT, which is realized mainly through the Internet, has become an indispensable part of our daily lives. In this class, students will learn the basics of why the Internet is connected. We believe that knowing how the Internet works, which we usually use without thinking about it, is significant for improving security and utilization of the Internet. It is also meaningful to know how homepages are made and how much time and effort it takes to build them. The purpose of this course is to acquire the skills to survive in the digital age by learning how the Internet works and how homepages are made.

[Goals]
Students will be able to understand and explain why the Internet is able to connect and communicate.
Students will be able to create and publish a simple website using HTML and CSS.

[Grading Criteria /Policy]
Grading is based on a 100-point scale, with 50 points for regular work and 50 points for in-class assignments. 60 points or higher is considered a passing grade.
