This is a beginners' introduction to Oral communication in English for a Business environment. Students will have writing and reading ability. This course focuses on practical spoken English.
Through this class you, the student , will learn practical English skills. with the focus on effective communication in real situations you may encounter in life.
The objective of the class is to increase your confidence in using English and to expand the functionality of the language you have learned.

This is a beginners' introduction to Oral communication in English for a Business environment. Students will have writing and reading ability. This course focuses on practical spoken English.
Through this class you, the student , will learn practical English skills. with the focus on effective communication in real situations you may encounter in life.
The objective of the class is to increase your confidence in using English and to expand the functionality of the language you have learned.

The purpose of this class is to give students confidence through practice. part II will focus on real business environments.
With that in mind by the end of each class you will have put to use the particular grammar and language you have studied and your teacher will be able to assess your progress through constant personal communication.
Your progress will be personally monitored, and you will be given face to face feedback regularly.
The goal of the course is for you, the student to feel confident in your ability to explain yourself and respond to others in English with confidence, and to be able to present your ideas clearly and correctly.

Using set text and teacher-provided materials as a basis we will build confidence through practical exercises, using English as it is used in a Business environment.
Each class includes individual, pair and group work, with the teacher moving around the class to listen, participate and supervise.
This means that every student is personally in touch with the teacher in every lesson, and your progress can be encouraged and assessed.

How we get around by land air and even sea. The grammar and vocabulary of transportation and movement.

The reasons, destinations and practicalities of International travel.
The grammar and vocabulary of describing and giving opinions on foreign locations.
第4回[対面/face to face]:Working overseas
A look at the different environments and customs we encounter working overseas.
The grammar and vocabulary of international manners and customs.
第5回[対面/face to face]:Your culture
Talking about Japanese life and culture. Explaining Japan to visitors and colleagues.
Practice in explaining the everyday of our lives to those with different life experiences and expecations.
第6回[対面/face to face]:Socialising 1
How to make visitors to Japan welcome and comfortable.
The grammar and vocabulary of smalltalk and the exploration of social taboos.
第7回[対面/face to face]:Socialising 2
How to cope with social situations abroad.
Using your English to communicate outside your comfort zones.
第8回[対面/face to face]:Presentation Preparation
Presentations on business themes. Topics, plans and tips on practical presentations.
Students will make their own decisions about topic and style.
第9回[対面/face to face]:Presentations
Practical presenting in small groups to the rest of the class.
Peer assessment will follow each presentation.
第10回[対面/face to face]:Meetings
Agenda, Minutes, Structure. How to prepare for meetings in English.
How to write and follow the specific vocabulary of meetings in English-speaking countries, including practical exercises.
第11回[対面/face to face]:Businesses
international Business. How is it different and how much the same?
A discussion group class about the issues of globalised commerce.
第12回[対面/face to face]:Products
Product description. How to put a product in front of the consumer.
The vocabulary and grammar of description and euphemism.
第13回[対面/face to face]:Advertising
How to make people want the product we are selling.
A practical lesson in creating an attractive image and selling a product.
第14回[対面/face to face]:Interviews
The final self-assessment and small group interview as part of the grading process

Occasional preparation for presentations. After each lesson there will be opportunities for personal review and preparation for the following week's vocabulary and grammar.本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とします。
