Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The purpose of this course is to acquire basic and systematic knowledge about ethnic businesses and immigration entrepreneurship (including immigration entrepreneurs). I will provide the framework helping to understand ethnic businesses and immigration entrepreneurship. I will also give specific cases related to ethnic town and ethnic Korean entrepreneurship.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do following:
 To explain the meaning of why we should focus on ethnic businesses.
 To explain what ethnic businesses are.
 To explain what the characteristics of ethnic businesses are.
 To explain the changes in the industrial structure of ethnic businesses and its directions.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to spend a few hours to read the article. Students are expected to suggest points at issue to discuss regarding the article in class. Students should choose an article and prepare to do its presentation in class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
The final grade will be calculated according to the following process.
・In-class contribution (discussion, participance in the class including question submission and presentation regarding the article 60 percent) 40 percent
・Final exam 60 percent
