Outline (in English)

Recently, statistics has attracted attention from both business and academia. Making good business decisions, such as marketing and investment strategies, requires objective evidence based on data, i.e. statistics. In this course, we will learn the basic theories of statistics.

The primary goals of this course are: to understand the basic concepts of statistics and to be able to explain them to others; to be able to organize and summarize data; and to be able to discuss trends in data from summary statistics and graphs.

You will be expected to review the textbook and materials after class to check your understanding of the basic concepts. You will be required to complete practice questions as assignments. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grades will be based on 40% assignments and 60% final exam.
