Learning objectives
Students who complete this course will be expected to:
(1) have an overview of major themes in organization theories,
(2) understand where the organization theories could be placed
in the academic field of business administration,
(3) have the knowledge of the basic concepts and terms in this field.
Learning activities outside of the classroom
Assignments which include reaction papers to the lectures will be given at the instructor's discretion.
Grading criteria/policy
Grading will be based on the mid-term or term-end examination (50%) and in-class attitudes and regular assignments (50%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
現代の企業経営は組織によって成り立っています。ヒト・モノ・カネ・情報といった経営資源を経営目標の達成に向けて上手く活用するためには組織の力が不可欠です。組織、ここでは特にヒトの労働力を統合し、方向づけ、活用する仕組みとその過程について、基本的な知識を習得することを目的とします。
This class aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge of organization and business administration theories including technical terms, major themes, and an overview of the field.
到達目標Goal
大まかに言えば、組織論がどういった学問であるのかを理解します。そのためには経営学という学問体系の中において、それがどのような位置づけにあるのか知る必要があります。つまり他の専門領域との関係の中で組織論はどういう領域なのかを知ってほしいと思います。また、その歴史的な発展の流れについて学びながら、組織論の基本的な用語についても知ってほしいと思います。これらは経営学を学ぶ上でのイロハになりますので、半期を通じて慣れていって下さい。
具体的には以下を目標とします。
①経営学の中で組織論がどのような位置づけにある領域かを説明できること
②組織論の基本的な言葉・概念を知っておりその意味が説明できること
③主要な理論について概要を知っていること
Students who complete this course will be expected to:
(1) understand where the organization theories could be placed in the business administration academic field,
(2) have the knowledge of the basic concepts and terms in this field and be able to explain the meaning of those terms.
(3) have an overview of major organization theories.

・初回の授業を除き、基本的に対面講義を実施します。それが難しい状況の場合はZoomを用いたリアルタイムのオンライン授業を行います。
・リアクションペーパー等を適宜課します。
・グループでの話し合いなども適宜行う予定です。
・The format for conducting the class is basically in person except the first lecture by online. However, the format (in person, online, or hybrid of them) depends on situations (such as COVID-19).
・Students will be required to submit reaction paper and/or some assignments as necessary.
・Group discussions might be held in class.

課題を課すことがありますが、入門科目ですから、あまり難しい事は求めません。新聞、ニュース、アルバイトやインターンなどをきっかけにして、興味のある業界・会社について調べたりしながら参加すると理解が深まります。これを機会に、組織の中で働く経験を開始するのもよいでしょう。
本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とします。
Assignments which include reaction papers to the lectures will be given at the instructor's discretion. Work experiences such as part-time jobs and/or internship will help you to understand this field.

坂下昭宣 (2014) 『経営学への招待 新装版』白桃書房。（分かりやすい良い教科書ですが購入の必要は必ずしもありません。授業は配布資料に沿って行います。）
授業の説明で分かりにくい場合、信頼性の低いネット情報に頼るのではなく、まず教科書や参考書にあたってください。

金井壽宏(1999)『経営組織―経営学入門シリーズ』日経文庫。（分かりやすい良い教科書ですが購入の必要は必ずしもありません。授業は配布資料に沿って行います。）

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
提出物やディスカッション、発言等を含む平常点50%、期末試験50%で評価します。ただしコロナの蔓延状況等により期末試験の実施の可否などが不明ですので、流動的です。
地震などの諸事情により試験が実施できなくなった場合は、各回のリアクション・ペーパーが評価の対象になると思います。
Grading will be decided based on the mid-term or term-end examination (50%) and in-class attitudes and regular assignments (50%). However, if the examination could not be conducted due to various circumstances, the reaction paper for each session will be the main target for evaluation.

・配られた資料を見るだけでなく、ノートを取る癖をつけて下さい。
・写真撮影、動画撮影、録音等の一切を禁じます。
・具体例を新聞等で探しながら復習をすると理解が深まります。
・出席状況は評価に加味しませんが、出席をせずにリアクション・ペーパーのみ
を提出することは不正とみなします。
・Take notes, not just looking at the handouts.
・Photography, video recording, or any other form of recording is strictly prohibited.
・Please review the material by looking for examples in newspapers, etc., for your understanding.
・Although attendance will not be taken into account in the evaluation, submission of reaction papers without attendance will be regard as a cheeting.
