We will develop and improve your presentation skills. You will practice speaking English in pairs and small groups and make individual and small group presentations on general English topics.
到達目標Goal
At the end of the course, students should have improved their oral communication skills and confidence when speaking English in pairs, small groups and in front of an audience. Students should understand the importance of good posture, eye contact, gestures, stage position, voice projection and enunciation in basic presentations.

In class listening activities and exercises using textbook audio resources and Communicative Language Teaching methods. Students will work in pairs and small groups in the class using English in an enjoyable and communicative way. Students will give peer-to-peer feedback on presentations and will be provided with feedback from the lecturer in class. Students will be asked to submit PowerPoint presentations on Google Classroom.

Students learn about pressure to be perfect and watch a video about improving self-esteem. Review of presentation overviews.
第4回[対面/face to face]:Unit 8: Wild Places
Students learn about natural places and listen about cartographers working in Patagonia. Review of presentation main bodies/details.
第5回[対面/face to face]:Unit 8: Wild Places. Unseen Footage, Untamed Nature.
Students watch a video about world travel and new technology. Review of presentation conclusions.
第6回[対面/face to face]:Unit 9: Achievements.
Students learn about great achievements and practice talking about round-the -world adventures. Students make a complete presentation plan.

Students make individual presentations in small groups and receive peer feedback.
第8回[対面/face to face]:Unit 10: Creative Cities.
Students practice describing neighbourhoods and listen to a talk about a hometown in South Africa. Students learn how to paraphrase key points.

Students watch a video about art being used for social change in Chicago and discuss and plan neighbourhood improvements.

Students learn about Photography and practice giving and asking for opinions in small groups and whole class mixer activities.

Students watch a video about creating illusions with photography.Students learn about presentation visuals.

Students listen to a talk about healthy and unhealthy habitsand discuss healhty choices.

Students watch a video about reducing diseases and child mortality. Students practice getting a presentation audience's attention. Overall presentation skills review.

Students make individual presentations in small groups and receive peer feedback.
授業時間外の学習(準備学習・復習・宿題等)Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
Students should prepare for class as instructed, do topic background research and plan and practice short presentations for in-class activities (2-4 hours).

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
In-class participation in classroom activities, individual and small
group presentations (50%). Homework (30%). Participation in
speaking review activities (20%). Timely submission of homework
assignments, regular attendance and active participation in class
activities are required in order to pass the course.* Students who did not take the TOEIC test in December will have their grade lowered by one
level (e.g. A+ → A) *
