Outline (in English)

This course introduces the foundations of literature of French speaking world (especially in the Americas) to students taking this course. They can learn also the methodology of literary research while reading literary text and social context at the same time.

The goals of this course are to understand and explain the socio-cultural situation of francophone literature.
Before and after each class meeting students will be expected to spend four hours reading the relevant documents.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the followings:
in-class contributions (discussion, reaction paper, etc): 30%, term-end report: 70%.
